NEW BALANCE’S NEWEST SHOE W hen New Balance entered the golf-shoe space at the 2013 PGA Show, it was yet another example of the popularity of
spikeless shoes in the marketplace. New Balance’s
latest shoe release, the Minimus 1005, continues
pushing on a minimalist design seen in its running
shoes. The framework comes from the Minimus run-
ning shoe, focusing on natural foot interaction with
the ground. The front of the shoe is wider to allow
your toes to move naturally. The shoes ($120) are
spikeless and have an upper made out of waterproof
microfiber leather. A resilient rubber material was
used on the outsole to help reduce wear. Two color
options are available now with a third arriving in
mid-February. For more, click here. —Keely Levins
