The Frys.com Open is often a worthwhile time to see what players are putting in their bags to start the new season. Here are some photos of what players had in the bag at Silverado Resort’s North Course last week.
( 1) At the start of the year, Justin Thomas had hip-hop lyrics stamped
on his wedges. But for the last few months, he has gone with “Radar”
on his Titleist SM5 wedges. ( 2) Troy Merritt’s Wilson FG Tour V4
utility iron is one of his go-to clubs off the tee. ( 3) A subtle stamping
of initials is a signal that these Nike Vapor Pro irons belong to Scott
Pinckney. ( 4) Movable weights are a big part of TaylorMade’s R15
driver technology. Sean O’Hair has them positioned toward the toe
to promote a slight fade off the tee. ( 5) Left-handed Brian Harman
maintains a consistent 4-degree loft gap (52, 56, 60 degrees) with his
