MR. STYLE: FASHION CRITIQUE FROM THE PGA CHAMPIONSHIP
The PGA Championship proved to be a bright spot on the fashion front—literally. Perhaps it was just the contrast to all the gray
hues players wore at the British Open, but Whis-
tling Straits seemed awash in color. Tiger Woods
( 1) gets high marks for the retro feel of his blue
ombre shirt, with Martin Kaymer ( 6) sporting a
similar look. Dustin Johnson ( 3) made a stylish
statement with the contrast pocket and collar.
Jordan Spieth (4) successfully strayed from his
usual darker tones with a heathered pink shirt.
Billy Horschel’s lime green pants on Saturday got
lots of attention, but the blue-dotted shirt ( 5) he
wore Thursday was his most compelling look.
Rory McIlroy ( 7) and Adam Scott ( 8) were right
on trend with their striped shirts that popped well
on TV. Rory also impressed with his brightly
colored trousers. And though winner Jason Day’s
wardrobe was a bit muted on Sunday, his wife,
Ellie ( 2), picked up the slack in the color depart-
ment with her stylish dress. —Marty Hackel G E
